We’re raising £65,000+ to support the next phase of sustainable, connected, community-focused transport — and we need your help to get there.

In 2026, SITU aims to launch the second Hopper Bus connecting holiday accommodation across the valley to key tourist attractions and fell walking locations. This will help to continue our work to reduce traffic in the Ullswater Valley. Additionally to provide affordable, accessible and environmentally friendly transport links for residents, visitors and local businesses. The Hopper Bus has already proven how vital reliable public transport is for reducing congestion, supporting local communities and protecting our beautiful landscape. Now it’s time to build on that success.

But the Hopper Bus is only part of the journey.

Your support will also help drive forward several exciting projects, including:

A future integrated transport system allowing people to leave their cars behind

A dedicated cycle route from Penrith to Pooley Bridge, improving safety, sustainability and outdoor access

These projects will help make Ullswater greener, easier to navigate and better connected for everyone — locals, commuters and visitors alike.
